The Club and its coaches, volunteers and community members take great pride in teaching the game to any student willing to make a commitment. The Club has produced MVPs and All-Americans at every position, a Gold Medal winning USA Volleyball coach, an NCAA Division 3 National Championship coach, numerous AVP (professional beach volleyball) players, a US Olympic Men's "B" team member, a MHSAA State Championship coach and an endearing alumni that travel back to the Banks of the Red Cedar each year to participate in charitable events, golf outings, tailgate parties, pasta dinners and of course, to play volleyball.
Worldwide, the MSU men's volleyball alumni family includes teachers, doctors, lawyer, dentists, engineers, economists, business executives, career military, scientists, and many other professionals. Former Club members can also be found working in business throughout Europe, pursuing volunteer missionary work in Africa, and spearheading agricultural, medical, technological and entrepreneurial efforts in
Academic excellence has always been the Club's #1 priority and a prerequisite for team participation. The Club's graduation rate since 1989 is 99%, making it the most academically distinguished sports team (club or varsity) on campus. The club is coached by Sante Perrelli who is in his 21st season as head coach. Coach Perrelli has USA Volleyball Impact, CAP Level 1 and CAP Level 2 coaching certifications and was named the 2006 National Coach of the Year.
